How the bracket works
Type one team or player per line. The order is the seeding: the first name is seed 1. Tick Random draw to shuffle the order fairly with your browser's secure random number generator.
In single elimination, a loss knocks you out. If the number of teams isn't 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64, the top seeds get a bye and go straight to round 2. Double elimination adds a losers bracket: you're out after your second loss, and the winners of both brackets meet in the grand final.
Round robin is a league: everyone plays everyone once. A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1. The table sorts by points, then wins.
Choosing a format
Single elimination is quick: with 16 teams the whole tournament takes 15 matches. It suits an afternoon event or a gaming night where time is short.
Double elimination gives everyone a second chance and is fairer when one bad game shouldn't end someone's day. It takes about twice as many matches. Round robin is best for small groups of 3 to 8, where everyone wants to play everyone.
Seeding and byes
If you know who is strongest, list them first and untick Random draw: seed 1 and seed 2 can then only meet in the final. If you don't know, leave Random draw on for a fair, unpredictable bracket.
With a number of teams that isn't 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64, the top seeds get a bye in round one. That is the standard way to fill a bracket and keeps every later round a clean knockout.
Running the event
Keep the bracket open on one phone or a laptop by the screen and tap the winner after each match. Copy the share link into the group chat after every round so players can check who they meet next.
Questions
How many teams can I add?
From 2 to 64. Byes fill the bracket up to the next size, so 6 or 13 teams work just as well as 8 or 16.
Can I fix a wrong result?
Yes. Tap the winner again to undo it, or tap the other team. Later matches that depended on that result are cleared, so nobody moves on by mistake.
How do I share the bracket?
Press Copy share link. The link holds the teams and every result so far, so others see the same bracket. Send a fresh link after new results.
Is there a bracket reset in double elimination?
No. The grand final is a single match. If you play a reset when the losers-bracket team wins, record it outside the bracket.
